Images by Jason & Tonja ~ Heald Family 2010

Spending an afternoon with your mom...

Spending an afternoon with your son...

Priceless!

They grow up so fast. One minute they are snuggly the next they are cutting themselves loose ready to be all grown up.

That wasn’t quite the case here, mom is still cool enough to be worthy of his time.
The Heald Family really enjoys spending time together.

Imagination runs wild when you are this age.  Everything is possible.

Hockey, guitar, building, exploring it is a fun age.  He’s a fun kid.

Mom is the best!

I think you’ll be able to tell that he thinks so too!

.

We had fun shooting, the Healds were up for anything!

Fun Fun Fun!

Thanks for choosing us to take your pictures!  We can’t wait to do it again!

Images by Jason & Tonja ~ Our Holiday Card

This year for the first time in YEARS we have sent out a holiday card.  We ended up making two printings as our address list grew.  We randomly intermixed our cards if you received the folded version you will have seen all of these pictures.  If you received the flat version you won’t have seen all of these.  We wanted everyone to be able to enjoy all of our card so we are sharing it with you here in this slideshow.

Additionally if we do not have your address we wouldn’t have sent one to you either.  If you’d like to be on our mailing list you can message us privately your address on Facebook or by email at: xotonja @ hotmail.com  (without the spaces of course)

We also appreciate you sharing what we are doing with your friends and family.  We would be honored to be apart of your special events, family moments, or business promotion.

After you have checked out our card please feel free to scroll down on your page to read our holiday letter.

Or Click Here to be taken directly to it.

Please note this slideshow may take a minute to load.

We are blessed by your friendship and patronage. Here is to an amazing 2011!

Love, Jason & Tonja

Images by Jason & Tonja ~ Sturtevant Family Winter 2010

(If you are looking for Jason and Tonja's holiday cards, continue scrolling down the page, they are two posts below.)

We had so much fun taking Jeff and Erin's pictures!
They can have you wanting to laugh so hard that you may just find yourself on the floor!!
Jeff is NOT a fan of having his picture taken, even he we think had a good time on our shoot.  Jason and I sure did, we are still giggling about all of the fun conversations and crazy moments!

In the end I think we came up with some really great shots, Jeff even smiled in a few of them.  Boy does he look handsome when he smiles!  Erin and he make a great couple and their fur kids further reflect their personalities.  Jeff's two labs were all business, they were determined to earn as many treats as possible.  Erin's fluffy cuddly queen was all about snuggling and getting things her way.

Momma Jean and her gorgeous fluff ball were great at striking a pose, she loves her son and daughter in law and just beams with pride when you talk about them.

We love being around this family, they are as generous and gracious as can be, Erin just glows around her man and Jeff is the strong and silent type.. that is until he starts goofing around!

So see what you think!

Jeff & Erin we are so glad that you chose us to take your pictures!
We loved shooting the two of you!
Jean was the icing on the cupcake! What a beautiful family the three of you make!

We are blessed by you!

Images by Jason & Tonja ~ Magiera Family Winter 2010

(If you are looking for Jason and Tonja's Holiday Letter, it is in the post below, just scroll down your page.)

Magiera Family

We shot fast and furiously,
We aimed to please,
Sometimes kids...
Well sometimes kids are just fantastic.
The Magiera kids proved to be fun to shoot!
So fun in fact that one of them snuck in to a shoot we will post in a while.

PreTeen's are so fun, they have got personality coming forth from their entire being.
Especially little girls.
These kids, well we've decided they have gotten their personality from their parents who themselves are as fun as a slinky on the stairs.

We shot a handsome chap who is growing into himself, he is already confident, and cool.
He is a kid who knows how to look great at any angle.
Watch out mom, you are going to soon have your hands full!

Dad has a whole nother issue to worry about, their daughter is all personality.
She is ready to have some fun, at a moment's notice she would strike a pose, we loved working with her energy.
The little guy is so so so cuddly and cute, he's the kind of kid that is irresistible.  You just want to run to him and give his cheeks a squeeze.
He wasn't really sure what was going on, but he hung in there as big bro and sis kept him going the right direction.

What can we say about mom and dad...

Great parents who you can tell can't wait to fall into each others arms at night after a day of living their amazing life.

We loved shooting your family, we love your style, we love your energy.
Thanks so much for choosing us to shoot you!

We feel blessed by your faith in our photography!

Hugs!  We can't wait to do it again!!
See you at the movies!

Happy Holidays from Jason & Tonja

We are excited to have so many great people in our lives.  Keeping in touch with everyone is always a fun challenge, and we are continually excited to spend time with our family and friends.  In an effort to stay in touch with each of you we did the unusual for us and actually mailed out holiday cards as we have intended to do now for years.  Thanks for stopping by our site to read our letter.

Tonja&Jason 4x5.5v_AccordionFold_Front_Panel

This year has been pretty routine for us.  Jason continues to work for the fire department, he continues to teach “disaster prep” classes, as well as CPR classes and will occasionally fill some call time at a Nebraska hospital.  While he is always very busy with work, he still manages to drive me to all of my doctor appointments.

Our exchange student daughters are all doing well, Debora is a Sales Director soon to be an Executive Sales Director with Mary Kay in Brazil she has a beautiful daughter whom we have yet to meet, but we enjoy listening to her sing to us via skype.  Agnes is in medical school in Hungary she is focusing in on women’s health but has yet to actually decide her area of expertise that she will practice.  Agnes (Agi) was able to visit us this past year, we had a day filled with Old Market Art adventures and piles of hugs.  Fernanda will soon be entering her last year of law school in Brazil as well she plans to come visit in 2011 and we can’t wait.  Our hope and dream is to visit each of our girls in the near future as we miss each of them terribly and are incredibly proud of each of them.

Having received a camera at the end 2009 has proven to be the highlight of our 2010 year.  Every opportunity Jason or I have gotten we have taken our camera with us to capture the environment around us.  Most often Jason goes out with his camera while I am still sleeping and will bring back pictures of his morning adventures.  These pictures will range from something as simple as a framed piece of grass to an eagle majestically living its life.   Jason excels at the technical aspects he is always tweaking and is never satisfied with his very discerning eye, he continually seeks technical improvement in the images that he creates.  I enjoy the emotional and creative aspects I can often be found watching the birds that settle in the trees around our home that readily snack at the feeders outside our windows and have been very excited to capture several varieties of birds with our camera.

We began putting pictures up on this blog site several months ago, friends began noticing the pictures that we posted on our Facebook pages, the next thing we do we were getting hired to shoot memories with our friends and family.  We have had word start to spread and are now being asked by people we have never met before to shoot their memories.  While this is a “hobby” for us, we’ve taken it seriously from the very beginning.

Having a great camera is only a small part of the equation to get a great picture.  We have taken classes from local photography instructors, as well as international photography instructors.  We’ve begun to develop our photography style, we are always excited for our next photography project where we are continually applying our latest knowledge to the shoot.  By the time we have finished one project we have usually expanded our knowledge and are already working to refine and further develop our skills and expand our creativity.

I have been doing much better compared to the beginning of the year.  Addition of new doctors in my care plan has brought about definitive diagnosis and is brining me some much needed improvement and hope.  While I am still not driving, I finally have hope of being able to drive.  My Service Dog Luka continues to help me as he has for years since the accident.  He is amazing and fabulous, and we enjoy taking pictures of him and his friends as well.  A few of the shots we have included in slideshows below as well.

Having a camera in my hand gives me a sense of independence and I find the creativity involved in obtaining the shot I want to give me a sense of accomplishment like I would receive before when I was out and about building my Mary Kay business.  Additionally I have enjoyed the finishing process that the digital world of photography provides.  Much of this manipulation of the image was done in darkrooms in the past, these techniques are at my fingertips.  While I am by no means an expert, this is another area in which I like to explore what is possible.

You can see some of my experimentation on the photographs on the holiday card we sent out.  I love experimenting with different techniques to see what emotions are brought forth.  I love looking at a picture of a place or a person and have a memory or a sense of what they were feeling or expressing pass over me.  Jason and I really love emotion evoking images we’ve discovered.  His opinion often differs from mine he is great at leveling out my creative expression.  Additionally I had the pleasure of wearing a dress that my mother used to wear.  It has been an inspiration of mine for a long time.

We hope you enjoy the images that we shared with you.  We also hope that you will feel free to come back to our site and see what new adventures we have been up to.  If you are new to this type of site, please check out the bar across the top of the page, as it offers other tabs with more information, including one labeled Help which will give you a run down of how our site works.  Please feel free to scroll below as well, and at the very bottom of the page you can look in our archived photos, as well as choose to follow our site and receive updates.

If by chance you would ever like your pictures taken we hope that you will consider asking us to take them.  Jason went on a trip this year to Yellowstone National Park the pictures he took on his trip are below.  My sisters and their children all got together this year as well and the pictures we took as well as many other adventures are featured as well.  Next year we have plans to shoot Jason’s family and we are going to continue taking photography classes and developing our skills.  We’ve a passion for this and hope you will find our images life enhancing and emotion provoking.

We’ve been so busy taking pictures, that we are behind in posting so feel free to check back as we will be posting additional adventure pictures as well.

If you have already been a supporter of our passion we are deeply grateful that you have placed your faith and the creation of your images in our hands.  We are blessed by you!

We wish each of you the best holiday season ever!

Blessings,

Jason & Tonja

Images by Jason & Tonja ~ Kunz Girls 2010

Having time with your mother is precious!!
This shoot was planned with one mother, as it turns out we got two!
We had lots of fun, the two beautiful women and little gal that you will see featured in this slideshow.

Be sure if you aren't familiar with how our site works to look near the top for a bar with a tab that says Help.
This link will give you the scoop on how our site works!

Grandma was brave.  She hadn't planned on sneaking into the shoot, she came for support.
Mom is beautiful as always and she takes after her mother as you will be able to tell.
Their little precious gal just blossomed as she had fun playing with ornaments.

Thank you for choosing us to take your mother daughter shots!
We love having you in our lives, we can't wait to watch your little girl grow!

Images by Jason & Tonja ~ The Gerdes Family Winter 2010

The Gerdes Family

We love hanging out with this young family!
Their girls are full of energy and their little guy is going to have his hands full keeping up with them.
We were excited to take fall/winter pictures with them, you can see pictures of the Gerdes Family on our site from when their little guy was just a "bun in the oven." Scroll down or look in our archives at the bottom of this page to check out their previous shoot.

Mom and Dad do an amazing job fielding the questions of their girls.
Inquisitive, giving, caring, energetic, fun and interesting
are just a few of the words that describe this family.

Daughter number one has it all together.  She is training the future adults of this family.
Daughter number two names each and everyone of her stuffed friends.  She wouldn't want anyone to be left out.
Hold on as this little guy grows, with these two girls, he will have no trouble learning all the tricks that these girls know.  Mom and Dad are going to have to hang on.  As they have one creative family!

Thanks for choosing us to be your families photographers.
We love making memories with you!
Additionally we are blessed by your friendship!

Don't forget to check out their previous shoot on our site!
Remember the archives are at the bottom of the page.
